community center art classes
Seniors (55+): Explore the world of art and color using acrylic paints, learning about the masters and creating your own masterpieces. Classes take place on Wednesdays, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., March 30 through May 4. Cost is $15 for Senior Center members and Coconut Creek residents; $20 for nonresidents.
Kids (7-14): A similar children’s paint class will take place on Tuesdays, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., March 29 through May 3. Program is $65 for Coconut Creek residents and $75 for nonresidents.
Tiny Tots (2-4): Toddlers will enjoy painting while practicing fine motor skills, listening, following directions and coordination. Classes take place on Mondays, 5 to 6 p.m., April 4-25. Parent participation is mandatory. Cost is $25 for residents and $35 for nonresidents.

movie in the park
On March 18 at 8 p.m., treat your little princess or prince to a magical night outdoors. Join the city at the Community Center [1100 Lyons Road] to catch “Cinderella” on the big screen. This live-action film starring Lily James and Cate Blanchett is a must-see. Bring blankets and lawn chairs for snuggling! Refreshments will be available for purchase. pot of gold treasure hunt
Lucky the Leprechaun has hidden his pot of gold coins and the city needs help getting them all back! On March 16, from 5 to 6 p.m., fill your pot with gold and don’t forget to wear green for good luck. For ages 3 to 6. Tickets are $10 for Coconut Creek residents and $15 for nonresidents. meditation & dedication
On March 12, from 2 to 4 p.m., Yoga Cure [4419 W. Hillsboro Boulevard] is hosting a gentle yoga, meditation and pranayama workshop for rejuvenation and healing. This is perfect for beginners and those desiring a gentler yoga practice to increase flexibility and decrease stress. The workshop includes breath work (pranayama), joint opening and basic standing and seated poses. The class is $25 per person. On March 19, from 2 to 4 p.m., participate in an upbeat barre workshop led by certified fitness trainer Fern L. Conn. This class will be a combination of Pilates, dance, ballet and yoga along with upper-body strength moves fused together to create an energetic workout. The class is $35 per person.
