Boys N’ Toys Private Yacht Hop Benefits Kids In Distress of Broward and Palm Beach Counties
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Hosted by Northrop & Johnson, Kids In Distress Boys N’ Toys invites guests to step onboard some of the most spectacular yachts at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show for one special night to benefit Kids In Distress of Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Boys N’ Toys takes place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show at Bahia Mar and event tickets are $250 per person.
The Boys N’ Toys “Superhero Committee” was formed to host a successful special event benefitting underserved children in the community.
“The concept behind this event is that we have real-life superheroes in our own community,” said Kids In Distress Development Officer Patricia Moskol. “Last year, the event raised more than $100,000 and I am certain the Superhero Committee will surpass the $200,000 goal set for this year.”
While yacht-hopping, guests have the opportunity to bid on extraordinary silent and live auction items, enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and partake in a variety of activities. Last year’s silent auction items included jewelry, weekend getaways, gift baskets and sports memorabilia.
The Boys N’ Toys event is one of the most exclusive events at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the largest in-water boat show in the world, which runs from Oct. 25 through Oct. 29. Featuring more than $3 billion worth of boats and marine products, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is known for its astounding number of luxurious yachts. Though the show attracts yachting enthusiasts from around the world, there is something for everyone who loves the water.
“While this event is known for its elegance and entertainment, the most special part of Boys N’ Toys is how greatly our efforts benefit the children of Kids In Distress,” said Moskol. “In 2011, KID services helped more than 8,000 children and families and we would be unable to continue to meet the needs of our community without the help of our friends and sponsors.”
Other Kids In Distress signature events include the Inlet Challenge Bicycle Ride, Duck Fest Derby, Cooking with KID and 5K Run/Walk for KIDs.
Kids In Distress brings more than 30 years of experience as a nationally accredited, community-supported agency dedicated to the prevention of child abuse, preservation of the family and the care and treatment of abused children in Broward and Palm Beach counties.
KID offers a full continuum of care that includes emergency shelters, therapeutic services, abuse prevention, foster care and adoption.
