Does 4-1-1 even exist anymore? Well, it does for city information, and it functions through the Community Relations Division. You’ll have to dial a few extra digits, but you’ll be satisfied with the results. Here’s the number: 954.973.6722. If you’re more inclined to use a computer, check out the Contact Us section on our website (coconutcreek.net).

Made up of five devoted professionals, the Community Relations Division is committed to establishing and keeping an open relationship with our residents, businesses and visitors. Trust is the foundation of our success, so prepare for honest and accurate information; sometimes with a touch of humor. (Take note of our Monday memes and random questions on our social media pages.)

We take an active interest in a well-informed community, and it shows through our many programs and initiatives. For instance, the Citizen’s Academy, which was established in 2007, has more than 350 alumni who, upon learning the intricacies of how the city is run, serve as ambassadors throughout our neighborhoods. How about CreekTV? In 2006, we were charged with launching a local television station. The immediate response was “What? Where? When? How?” But today, our latest productions can be seen on Comcast Channel 78, and there are more than 600 videos at youtube.com/creektv.

Are you feeling social? More than 10,000 followers know we are very active on social media. Many of you have made us “LOL” with your comical responses while others share in our enthusiasm to promote our phenomenal city. Our connection with the community feels effortless as we provide information and resources on a daily basis. Last year, we were recognized for our immediate and precise responses during Hurricane Irma. But it’s not one-sided. Your feedback is essential and helps shape actions—actions that include enhanced community programs, focused development and superior events.

Here’s what next. First, you’ll start noticing more captivating marketing material (logos, banners, flyers, brochures). Our in-house sign shop will outfit city vehicles and beautify facilities and parks. We are working closely with the Parks and Recreation Department to enhance the image of our fitness centers. Our website will evolve to be much cleaner and user-friendly. Still to come: social media contests, a video contest, photography projects, and better grand-opening ceremonies.
