Out with the Old, Drive-In with the New
Blue Starlite Urban Drive-in Finds New Home At Old Cutler Road
Blue Starlite Urban Drive-In, Miami’s one and only drive-in movie theater, has moved from its previous Coconut Grove location to Old Cutler Road, a space double in size across from Deering Estate. Blue Starlite’s new home will still offer the same nostalgic drive-in experience as the former location with real drive-in movie speakers, a classic car projection booth and friendly ’50s-style customer service. The concession stand comes in the form of a classic Shasta trailer and serves up all the essential movie snacks like Raisinets and Milk Duds, as well as their own Vintage Retro Gummy Flights and S’Mores for Two.
“We have always wanted to create a version of the Blue in South Miami and this is the perfect spot!” says Josh Frank, owner and Miami resident. “We imagine our patrons coming early, parking for a movie, walking over to Deering Estate and watching the sun set on the bay, grabbing a pizza at our neighboring establishment and then settling into their cars to watch a great classic pop culture film!”
The Blue Starlite Urban Drive-In is located at 7271 SW 168th St., Palmetto Bay. For more information, visit miamiurbandrivein.com.
