Cellar 1954 dinner series

  • In honor of the Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s beginnings in 1954, the monthly dinner series highlights and pairs the world’s most prestigious wines and spirits with the award-winning cuisine of the restaurant’s signature dining spots. This month, StripSteak by Michael Mina will host an exclusive Pappy Van Winkle dinner (the flagship brand of bourbon whiskey, owned by the Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery and regarded as one of the world’s finest and most exclusive bourbons on the market). The culinary team will prepare a four-course meal paired with 10-, 12- and 13-year-old Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon. Dinner will be followed by a nightcap of 15-, 20- and 23-year-old Pappy and a cigar pairing in the restaurant’s lower deck.

Sunday, July 23

National Pisco Day and Peruvian Independence Day at SuViche

  • The Peruvian-Japanese restaurant is celebrating Peruvian culture with food and drink specials. The festivities kick off with buy one, get one free deals on Pisco Sours and Chilcanos from 3 p.m. to close at SuViche’s Pisco Bars at the Las Olas and Wynwood locations. Both will feature live music. For the rest of the week, the restaurant will offer a Tiradito, an authentic Peruvian dish made with raw fish served sashimi-style (similar to a carpaccio) and served chilled in a spicy sauce. SuViche’s special Peruvian Flag Tiradito will be available at all locations and is prepared with wild-caught white fish topped with a crema de rocoto and its signature sauce, garnished with cilantro and fresh Peruvian corn.

Bank of America Fiesta! Fort Lauderdale

  • Get outside and dance at the Latin concert, which also features food, crafts, a business expo and charity tent.
  • When: 11 a.m.–5 p.m. (every fourth Sunday)
  • Where: Huizenga Plaza in Las Olas Riverfront (32 East Las Olas Boulevard)
