In his new, innovative video marriage program, Neuman Method, Creating Your Best Marriage, New York Times best-selling author M. Gary Neuman and South Florida resident provides a hands-on approach to help couples at any stage develop a wonderful marriage. Gary’s insightful and practical approach shows couples the crucial areas to create meaningful changes

In his research, Neuman discovered that couples who spent an average of 30 minutes talking daily reported significantly happier marriages. Neuman suggests that every couple find consistent evening time to chat alone, putting all phones and personal electronics away so that the time is uninterrupted.

One of the most surprising parts of his research was discovering that husbands who physically cheated on their spouses said that it was not about the sex. They discussed their emotional needs as the primary force behind their highly inappropriate behavior. Newman discusses at length how important it is for both spouses to appreciate each other. He suggests that each spouse make two appreciative comments or gestures daily to immediately kickstart the process of creating a better relationship.

Date night with the Neuman rule. Go out for a date alone as a couple for a minimum of two hours on the same night each week. The rule is what you cannot speak about on the date: money, work, and kids. “People always look at me dumbfounded and say, ‘Gary, what else will we talk about? We never talk about anything else.’ Remember that when you were dating and falling in love you were not incessantly talking about the pressures of money work and kids.”

Neuman found that one of the primary differences between successful and failed couples is the ability to resolve differences. Neuman teaches the simple art of listening and focusing on how to fix the problem now and in the future.

In his research, Neuman found that sexual dissatisfaction for both spouses had more to do with infrequency than anything else. He alerts us to the fact that spouses need to discuss how to create time and energy for intimacy as well as how sexuality begins with loving gestures and thoughtfulness, long before we get to the bedroom.
