4th Annual Cars, Cocktails & Cuisine

THE EVENT  Take a tour down memory lane with a rare look at classic cars from nearly every decade at Cars, Cocktails & Cuisine hosted by Kira and Jason Turchin and presented by The Law Offices of Jason Turchin. Enjoy a beautiful evening and reception at The Dauer Museum of Classic Cars. Proceeds from the event will benefit Betty Cares at Miami Children’s Health Foundation to support caregivers who dedicate themselves to caring for their loved ones. Guests will enjoy cuisine presented by Bonefish Grill and Hard Rock Café, cocktails courtesy of Little Black Dress Vodka and Gentleman Jack, and desserts presented by Starbucks Coffee, Weston Commons and Bouer Catering Group. The event features a special performance by Broadway performers: the Garden State Guys. While enjoying the cars, cocktails and cuisine, guests will have the opportunity to bid on a myriad of silent auction items, showcasing many generous and luxurious sponsors.

Prior Betty Cares events have raised more than $80,000 and have funded several programs including: an outpatient pharmacy program, universal cellphone charging stations at outpatient centers, donation of laptops so patients and their families can stay connected, as well as the upcoming donation of numerous iPads for families at the main hospital, Miami Children’s Hospital Dan Marino Outpatient Center in Weston, and the Miami Children’s Hospital Miramar Outpatient Center.

THE CAUSE  Betty Cares at Miami Children’s Hospital was created by Kira and Jason Turchin in 2010 as a way for Kira to allow her mother’s caring nature to continue to make a difference in others’ lives. Kira’s mom, Betty, was a caregiver to a family member stricken with cancer and neglected signs that her own health was failing until it was too late. Six weeks before the birth of her granddaughter and namesake, Shaina Bari, Betty passed away. With their own child a patient at Miami Children’s Hospital, the Turchins identified this unfulfilled need to support others going through similar ordeals and created Betty Cares. True to Betty’s altruistic character, Betty Cares at Miami Children’s Hospital is dedicated to individuals who often neglect themselves while caring for their loved ones.
