THE CAUSE  FISP is committed to the prevention of suicide by helping to alleviate feelings of alienation, desperation, isolation, helplessness, and hopelessness through education, support, advocacy and research. Established in 1991 by five families who lost children to suicide, FISP has become a major educational and support resource by working collaboratively with schools, police, organizations, professionals, agencies, and survivors of suicide loss. Our goal is to continue serving all segments of our community with our researched SUN program and provide more middle and high schools with our HOPE Club Program. FISP provides five support groups, phone support, referrals and written materials to those who have lost or fear they are losing a loved one to suicide. All our services are financed through grants and donations and are provided at no cost to the participants. FISP serves on the State Suicide Prevention Coordination Council to help implement the state’s suicide prevention strategy.
