As we move into our new normal, South Florida organizations are continuing to hold virtual events to engage the community and raise funds, including House of Hope.
The nonprofit, which provides substance abuse and mental health programming, will host Race to Recovery to raise awareness of the impact of addiction in the South Florida community. Funds raised will support men and women in recovery and House of Hope’s mission to rebuild lives, reunite families and strengthen the South Florida community.
During the weekend, participants are encouraged to walk, run, jog, bike or swim two miles to honor the two people who die from an overdose every day in South Florida. Participants are welcome to register as a team or individual and set fundraising goals that friends and family members can contribute to. House of Hope is also encouraging participants to share a photo after finishing the challenge with the hashtag #2miles2gether.
Race to Recovery takes place June 26-28. Click here to register.
