The team at AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach recently marked the one-year anniversary of its opening with a Broward County first. During a late-afternoon ceremony, AC unveiled a dramatic handmade mural outside its entrance created with preserved natural moss and wood.
The moss mural—brought to life by artist Paloma Teppa, founder and creative director of Plant the Future—recalls Fort Lauderdale’s signature wave wall and beachfront promenade.
“My goal with this mural is to transmit the healing energy of the beach to all the hotel guests and visitors as soon as they arrive,” Teppa said. “This mural serves as a warm welcome to the tropical city of Fort Lauderdale and highlights how Earth’s elements magically intersect at the beach to create a peaceful, euphoric experience.”
Plant the Future, founded in 2008 in Wynwood, has gained global renown for its biophilic designs, creating the first of its kind botanical art gallery. The moss mural is preserved using a special treatment of nontoxic ingredients that enable it to maintain color and freshness over time.
“Collaborating with Plant The Future allowed us to not only bring our vision of nature and art to life but also enhance the arrival experience for all of our guests,” said Nils Bergman, general manager at AC Hotel Fort Lauderdale Beach. “We look forward to enjoying it for years to come.”
