Pandemic life has yielded a hybrid superhuman capable of tasks and creativity beyond their realm of thinking, and for some, even beyond their scope of perceived talent in its rawest form.

This homage is for all the caregivers during the pandemic, the moms and dads that had to become every hat imaginable – from teacher and chef to therapist and entertainer…not to forget money supplier and risk taker! All of these roles, hours per day until the wee hours at night – day after day for over a year.

You are nothing short of spectacular, beautiful, and an amazing hero.

Post pandemic, I am calling for all superheroes to remember that they need to refuel, to recharge, and to take daily time to really love YOU now…it’s time, you are so very important.

Sometimes we need to be reminded that self-care is not selfish, but quite the opposite… self-care is selfless. When you are at your very best, feeling healthy, confident and well rested, you are of so much value to those you love and those around you. So please find time to do something you love; perhaps it’s taking the time to exercise daily, reading a book ALONE (lol), time with friends, a new hobby or simply a walk on one of our beautiful South Florida beaches. Whatever you decide to do, and however you decide to do it, do it solely for you…you have earned it.

There is always a silver lining, and as the superheroes emerge amidst the yuck…we are truly shown just how outstanding we humans really are, and exactly what we are capable of.

Thank you to you all – I hope you find both pride and honor from just being YOU.

With great love and appreciation,

Linzi Martinez
