The Rotary Club of Coral Springs/ Parkland has chosen the Parkland 17 Memorial Foundation as its main beneficiary for its upcoming Casino Night fundraiser, which will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 10, in the main room at the Parkland Golf & Country Club, 10001 Old Club Rd.
The Parkland 17 Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Florida not-for-profit corporation honoring the 17 massacred at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Feb. 14, 2018: Alyssa Alhadeff, Scott Beigel, Martin Duque Anguiano, Nicholas Dworet, Aaron Feis, Jaime Guttenberg, Chris Hixon, Luke Hoyer, Cara Loughran, Gina Montalto, Joaquin Oliver, Alaina Petty, Meadow Pollack, Helena Ramsay, Alex Schachter, Carmen Schentrup and Peter Wang. The fundraising for the Parkland 17 Memorial is underway, and it will be situated in a peaceful and tranquil preserve currently under construction. This memorial will offer a public space for people to commemorate and contemplate the lives of the victims who were taken away from their families and our community.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Rotary Club of Coral Springs/ Parkland for selecting our foundation as a beneficiary of their fundraiser,” Tony Montalto says, father of Gina Montalto, Vice Chairman of the Parkland 17 Memorial Foundation and family liaison for all the victims’ families. “Their support will help us continue our mission of advocating for safer schools and communities and provide support for the Parkland 17 Memorial.”
Individuals of all skill levels, from poker professionals to blackjack beginners, can join in on the fun. The event will feature various casino games such as poker, blackjack, and roulette, a raffle, a silent auction, a delectable buffet dinner, and cocktails.
