Osteopenia is the pre-osteoporosis state. It’s when our bone density score shows some bone loss, but not enough to be labeled osteoporosis. Thinning bones are a risk factor for experiencing a major bone break, such as a hip or spine.
Most people think of osteoporosis — a condition characterized by a loss of bone mass and density — as mainly a health problem for older women. If you’re male, you may have breathed a small sigh of relief — or simply tuned out — whenever osteoporosis came up. It wasn’t a disease you needed to worry about. It is well known that loss of estrogen causes osteoporosis in women. In men, reduced levels of testosterone may also cause osteoporosis. For both men and women, as our hormones decline, so does our bone strength.
So, what is our best defense? Optimizing your hormones with natural Bio-Identical Hormone Pellet Therapy, weight-bearing exercise, optimizing Vitamin D, and a healthy diet is a good place to start.
Having the constant delivery of the hormones creates a perfect environment for Testosterone to rebuild bones. Testosterone has been proven to rebuild bone!
One of the greatest joys of my practice is hearing a patient tell me about how their bone density tests have improved after a year or two of pellet therapy! Seeing the improved bone density reports is so rewarding.
At LowTE Florida® we provide individualized treatment based on your biochemistry and your medical history using Bio-Identical pellets. My system is grounded in science, not guesswork. For more information, go to: LowTEFlorida.com or call 954-791-4498.
