Do you know if you are eligible for Florida’s Older Americans Act Title III B Federal funds for supportive services? The good news is you might be if you are age 60 or older or a caregiver to a senior.

OAA Funds are allocated to your local Area Agency on Aging, which in turn contracts with local service providers. Contact the Alliance for Aging at (305) 670-6500 to assist you in checking your eligibility for these home health care and community services. You have the right to request specific local service providers.

Serving South Florida for over 50 years, United HomeCare® has dependable supportive services available for you and your loved ones for home health care, including home health aides, personal care and grooming, home-delivered meals, homemaker services, information and referral assistance, help with chores, home repairs, companionship, telephone reassurance, nutrition education, and services for families of elders living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias to boost the well-being of seniors and help them live independently in their own homes and the community.

United HomeCare® also provides OAA-funded supportive services for caregivers, including respite, training, and personalized support. As a nonprofit organization, we uniquely provide additional personalized support for caregivers through our volunteer program. Intergenerational volunteers help by visiting clients’ homes to enjoy hobbies or making phone calls to have friendly conversations with seniors or disabled adults while the caregivers can rest or focus on things that need to be done. We also have a wonderful complimentary computer tablet and tech support program for seniors and disabled adults called AVUS Tech Pals®.
