MS Focus on Fashion Offers a Night of Elegance and Empowerment for People With Multiple Sclerosis

The company has worked in the community for nearly 40 years.

The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation celebrated a successful night of fundraising at the MS Focus on Fashion event, presented by Novartis. The event took place at the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) in Dania Beach. This inspiring evening raised an impressive $96,000 to support the foundation’s various programs and services. Guests enjoyed an elegant night featuring cocktails, a gourmet dinner catered by Todd’s Catering, a silent auction, and the evening’s highlight—a fashion show showcasing adaptive clothing created by two of Florida’s top designers, Melissa Garsva and Lady Fines. The fashion show held special significance as it featured models from the community living with multiple sclerosis (MS) and other physical disabilities, illustrating the impact of adaptive fashion in promoting both style and accessibility.

Over 200 guests attended the inaugural event, including many community members living with multiple sclerosis. In addition to the substantial funds raised, the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation garnered significant recognition for its vital work in the community over the past 38 years. Julie Guy, the morning host of 101.5 Lite FM, served as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the evening.

“We are thrilled with the outpouring of support for this remarkable event, which not only highlights the importance of adaptive fashion but also brings our community together to support a cause that affects so many,” said Traci Allyn Shur, Director of Philanthropy. “The funds raised will help us continue to
provide essential services to those living with MS, from medical care and equipment to emotional support and education.”
