Alec Ingold’s Gifts In Gold Campaign Plans to Build Playground for SOS Children’s Villages Florida

The Miami Dolphins fullback was nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award.

The Ingold Family Foundation’s Gifts In Gold campaign recently launched with an exciting announcement to construct a new playground at SOS Children’s Villages Florida in Coconut Creek. Alec Ingold of the Miami Dolphins unveiled the initiative, sharing his vision and personal connection to the cause as an adoptee and advocate for foster youth. Partnering with family-owned Weston Jewelers, the foundation committed to building the play area for SOS Children’s Villages Florida through funds raised through Ingold and the Dolphins’ on-field performance during the 2024-25 NFL season, with $100 donated for every 30 offensive yards gained. The campaign secured over $16,000, highlighting the community’s dedication to creating opportunities for growth, learning, and play for foster youth.

The announcement featured heartfelt remarks from SOS Board Chair Ivan Velez-Leon and SOS Chief Development Officer Dawn Seay, who emphasized the critical need for a safe, inclusive playground and shared their excitement for its anticipated completion in 2025. Representing Weston Jewelers, Danni Dikes expressed the company’s deep commitment to the community and their pride in supporting the campaign. The day wrapped up with Alec and the Ingold Family Foundation spreading holiday cheer through a festive toy giveaway for the children at SOS.

Since its founding in 1993, SOS Children’s Villages Florida has provided a safe and nurturing home for children removed from their families and placed in foster care in Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Over the past 30 years, SOS has supported the growth and development of more than 1,200 foster children, helping them become thriving, successful members of the community.
