American Cancer Society to Host Evening of Hope Event

American Cancer Society’s (ACS) newest distinguished experience, Evening of Hope, will commence National Cancer Survivors weekend during a night where guests demonstrate their commitment to the fight against cancer through fundraising efforts. The event on Friday, June 2 at Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa is chaired by Nikki F. Upshaw, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Oceania Cruises. Guests can enjoy a dining experience, live and silent auctions valued at $100,000, live entertainment, dancing and recognizing mission moments.

“Cancer is indiscriminate and has impacted my loved ones and affects so many of us,” Upshaw says. “The American Cancer Society’s valuable work is making a difference, and yet there is more to be done. I am honored to lead the continuing efforts to fight this disease and am humbled by the opportunity to give back to my community and those in need.”

Throughout the last six years, the American Cancer Society’s distinguished events portfolio has raised over $6 million to help further the Society’s mission to ensure everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect, treat and survive cancer. The American Cancer Society is a leading cancer-fighting organization with a vision to end cancer through advocacy, research and patient support.
