Bamboo Room Nears Opening at Esme Miami Beach Hotel

The venue offers a fusion of classic tiki culture with modern sophistication.

Trader Vic’s Hospitality Group unveiled the opening date of the Bamboo Room by Trader Vic’s at the Esmé Miami Beach Hotel. This sophisticated cocktail lounge artfully combines the charm of 1930s tiki culture with modern-day elegance. Scheduled to open to the public on Friday, Sept. 13, the Bamboo Room by Trader Vic’s is set to become Miami’s newest destination for cocktail enthusiasts.

The Bamboo Room by Trader Vic’s, located within the stylish Esmé Miami Beach Hotel at 1438 Washington Ave. in Miami Beach, offers a seductive atmosphere where the past and present collide. Spanning 1,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, the lounge can accommodate up to 50 seated guests. Inspired by the original Trader Vic’s Bamboo Room, this venue pays homage to classic tiki culture while incorporating contemporary design elements. Its accents, tropical décor and innovative cocktail menu create an exotic, escapist ambiance that transports guests to a different era.

“We’ve long dreamed of bringing the Bamboo Room to life, and when the opportunity arose to partner with the Esmé Miami Beach Hotel, we knew it was the perfect match,” says Rhett Rosen, CEO of Trader Vic’s Hospitality Group. “With the rich history of both our brands, this collaboration offers a unique experience that we’re thrilled to share with the Miami community.”

Guests can embark on a global journey through its cocktail menu, as each drink is dedicated to a specific city or region that has influenced Trader Vic’s worldwide legacy. Noteworthy cocktails include:

  • Park Lane – A London-inspired cocktail named after the iconic street where Trader Vic’s first opened in the UK.
  • El Polinesio – A tribute to the original Trader Vic’s location in Cuba, preserved even after the brand’s departure following Castro’s rise.
  • Hinky Dinks – A twist on the original Mai Tai, named after Trader Vic’s first establishment in Oakland, California, in 1934 and where the original Bamboo Room was created.

Thanks to the collaboration with Sushi Bar, the Bamboo Room offers a seamless dining and cocktail experience. Guests can start their evening with a pre-drink at the Bamboo Room before partaking in Sushi Bar’s renowned Omakase Experience. After dinner, they are encouraged to revisit the Bamboo Room to savor the full spectrum of tiki-inspired cocktails.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Bamboo Room as our new neighbor at the Esmé Miami Beach Hotel,” says Ryan Stock, Founder of Sushi Bar. “A property with so much special history, complemented by a uniquely significant historical brand, is something that I think Miami Beach needs more of. We are all working to create a destination like no other in Miami Beach and can’t wait to see it come to life.”

The venue caters to various patrons, such as young professionals, cocktail fans, tourists and event organizers. Its cozy ambiance makes it perfect for social get-togethers, business functions and other special occasions, capturing Miami’s fashionable atmosphere with a touch of nostalgia.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bamboo Room and Trader Vic’s legendary tiki offering to Esmé Miami Beach Hotel,” says David Berg, Partner, Infinity Collective. “Trader Vic’s iconic concepts perfectly align with our mission to marry the past, present, and future of hospitality for our guests—all while serving incredible cocktails here in Miami Beach.”
