Art Basel returns with satellite fairs, immersive installations, and must-see exhibitions.

December 1–7, 2025 marks Miami’s annual transformation into the global epicenter of contemporary art. While the week is anchored by Art Basel Miami Beach, the city’s true magic comes from the constellation of satellite fairs, pop-ups, museum shows, and public installations stretching from South Beach to Wynwood and Downtown. The result is a weeklong celebration where artists, collectors, and curious wanderers share the same sidewalks, rooftops, and beach paths—creating a cultural energy that feels electric.

Art Basel Miami Beach, held at the Miami Beach Convention Center (artbasel.com/miami-beach), remains the centerpiece. With more than 250 galleries from around the world, it delivers a sweeping look at the international art landscape. But Basel is only one part of the story.

Across Miami, satellite fairs open their doors during the same week and bring a different rhythm to the city. These fairs are independent from Basel and often more intimate and experimental. They’re the places where emerging artists gain momentum, where galleries take risks, and where visitors can discover work that feels raw, new, and unexpected.

Art Miami (artmiami.com) and Context Art Miami (contextartmiami.com), located at One Herald Plaza, offer a polished mix of contemporary highlights, mid-career standouts, and international exhibitors. Untitled Art (untitled.art), set in a striking beachfront tent on Ocean Drive, delivers a sophisticated, curated presentation that blends established names with rising voices. Scope Miami Beach (scope-art.com) brings a youthful, high-energy atmosphere to the shore, known for immersive work and bold aesthetics. NADA (newartdealers.org), hosted at Ice Palace Studios, champions independent galleries and experimental artists who often define the next wave of contemporary art. Design Miami (designmiami.com), just steps from Art Basel, focuses on collectible design that blurs the line between fine art and functional sculpture.

Each neighborhood brings its own flavor to the week. South Beach and Miami Beach pulse with the highest density of fairs, public installations, and special events, including the Lincoln Road Art Program (lincolnroad.com), which transforms the iconic pedestrian boulevard into an open-air gallery. One of the most anticipated gallery exhibitions is David LaChapelle’s “Vanishing Act” at VISU Contemporary (visugallery.com).
