Brightstar Credit Union Partners With Broward Education Foundation for Annual Back-to-School Drive

It’s an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students in need.

The 2023-2024 Back-to-School drive has commenced in Broward County, and BrightStar Credit Union serves as an official sponsor and collection site. This drive is organized by Broward Education Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable organization that assists students and teachers in Broward County Public Schools. This school supply drive will provide essential supplies for the upcoming school year to under-resourced students.

After the great success of last year’s drive, where over 130,000 students in almost 200 Broward County Title I schools were assisted, BrightStar and the Broward Education Foundation are again accepting donations. These donations can be made in person through essential supplies or virtually through monetary donations at BEFdrive.com

The drive is a collaborative initiative involving the Foundation, the general public, and local businesses like BrightStar. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a significant impact. Essential school supplies include black composition books, folders, glue sticks, pens, pencils, crayons, and pink erasers.

BrightStar Credit Union’s branches in Broward, including Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Hollywood, Lauderhill, Pembroke Pines, Margate, and Pompano Beach, will serve as drop-off locations for school supplies that will be donated to the Foundation’s school supply drive.

Individuals can make monetary contributions to support student learning through a virtual drive. Donations of $10 can supply 200 pencils, $35 can provide a student with a backpack filled with essential school supplies, $100 can support a teacher with crucial classroom tools and resources, and $250 can provide art supplies for an entire classroom. Every donation, no matter the amount, can make a significant impact.

For additional information on donating school supplies, please visit BEFdrive.com or call 954.486.2728. For a list of BrightStar branch locations and operating hours, visit bscu.org/locations
