Broward Children’s Center Host the Annual Miles for Smiles 5K

The nonprofit provides programs to meet the needs of developmentally disabled and medically fragile infants, children, young adults, and their families.

Broward Children’s Center is set to host its 21st Annual Miles for Smiles 5K at Pompano Beach Community Park on Saturday, Nov. 16. Participants of all ages, including runners, walkers, families, community leaders, wheelchairs, and strollers, will converge at the picturesque Pompano Beach Community Park to raise funds and awareness in support of Broward Children’s Center. The event will include a family-friendly 5K, children’s activities, live entertainment, raffles, an awards ceremony, and more. WPLG-ABC Anchor Nicole Perez will serve as the master of ceremonies.

The Miles for Smiles event will support Broward Children’s Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving infants, children, and young adults with special needs since 1971. The proceeds will aid in funding crucial programs and medical, developmental, and therapeutic services tailored to meet the specific needs of developmentally disabled and medically fragile infants, children, young adults, and their families.

Participants can sign up for the event individually or as part of a team and engage in online fundraising before race day. Check-in for the Miles for Smiles event will open at 8 a.m. on race day, with the 5K starting at 9 a.m. Following the race, there will be an awards ceremony and a raffle.
