Broward Children’s Center Unveils Renovated Nursery at Pompano Beach Facility

Upgraded nursery offers new technology, ventilators, and thoughtful design to support young patients.

Broward Children’s Center, a nonprofit dedicated to serving infants, children, and young adults who are developmentally disabled and medically fragile, recently unveiled a fully renovated nursery at its Children’s Comprehensive Care Center (CompCare) in Pompano Beach.

To celebrate the milestone, the Center hosted a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 13. Community supporters, families, board members, and dignitaries—including Pompano Beach Commissioner Alison Fournier—gathered to mark the occasion alongside representatives from Florida Blue Foundation, Delta Pilots Charitable Fund, and Closets By Design of Pompano Beach, who helped make the $200,000 project possible.

The new 15-bed nursery, serving newborns to 8-year-olds, was fully refurbished to enhance comfort, care, and functionality. Upgrades included new cabinetry, countertops, nightstands, linen closets, and nurse stations, as well as the addition of 15 new ventilators and integrated technology like TVs and computers.

CompCare is the only freestanding pediatric skilled nursing facility of its kind in the Southeast U.S., offering short- and long-term care for children and young adults with complex medical needs. The team provides individualized, state-of-the-art medical, therapeutic, and recreational care to ensure each child receives the support they need to thrive.
