The Swedish vodka brand Absolut recently launched a collaborative campaign to honor the traditions of the celebrated Midommar holiday.
The campaign began with an event series to spread the Midsommar celebrations around South Florida. These events range from Vinyasa and Vodka morning yoga (pictured) to Mixology classes and highlight the unique flavor combinations inspired by summer. Upcoming events include the Fort Lauderdale Beach Sweep Happy Hour at Cafe Ibiza on August 12, Cocktails + Flower Crowns at Spazio on August 10, Rosé Soirée at Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach on August 15 and Midsummer Night Dream at W Fort Lauderdale on August 17th.
Absolut’s summer celebration doesn’t stop at these events. The vodka brand collaborated with The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach to introduce a spa menu featuring flavors found in the fresh new vodkas recently launched. “We became aware that Absolut was launching new vodka flavors in conjunction with the Midsommar holiday,” says Ashley Spurlock, Director of Heavenly Spa and Fitness at The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach. “We wanted to bring these recipes to life on the treatment table.”
The new treatments include the Absolut Swedish Mule Pedicure, Strawberry Lemon Vodkatini Manicure, Strawberry Summer Sangria Body Cocktail, Midsommar Swedish Massage and the Apple Mango Tango Duo with a Green Apple Facial and Mango Massage. Each of these services coincides with a cocktail recipe and infuses summer-inspired flavors. The Summer Sangria Body Cocktail, for instance, includes a strawberry body scrub, coconut lime oil and a raspberry hydrating foot treatment – all components of the Strawberry Summer Sangria cocktail recipe developed by Absolut. Guests at the Heavenly Spa can enjoy a complimentary spiked popsicle from POP LABS at the conclusion of their service as they unwind and relax in the spa facilities. They will also receive a take-home cocktail recipe book and a mini bottle of Absolut vodka.
Patrons of the spa can enjoy $5 valet parking for up to 5 hours, full access to the spa and fitness facilities including the Swiss Rain Shower and Eucalyptus Steam Room, access to the pool and on-site dining options at the Westin’s new Rum Bar, Waves Bar and Grill.
