When: Saturday, Oct. 7
Where: Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood
Charity: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County
What: Bret Michaels—the longtime lead singer for Poison, successful solo artist and reality TV star—takes the stage at this fundraiser celebrating the 50th anniversary of BBBS of Broward. Proceeds support the nonprofit’s Road to 3,000 initiatives, focused on recruiting more Bigs to match with children/teens on the organization’s waitlist.
Expect an evening that includes a cocktail reception, gourmet dinner stations, DJ entertainment and dancing.
In addition to a special performance by Michaels, the event will honor two individuals with Legacy Awards: Ana Cedeno, past president and CEO (for 27 years) with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward; and Dan Schevis, a founding member of the organization. The Leslie L. Alexander Foundation, a generous supporter, will be recognized with the Champion of Children honor.
The mentoring relationships created by BBBS continue to positively impact the lives of youth throughout the county.
“We’re thrilled to have Bret Michaels take the stage at Déjà Vu Rock of Ages,” says Malena Mendez, current president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County. “Bret has epitomized the best of rock over a career that has inspired three generations of loyal fans and followers. His international acclaim fits perfectly within the rock vibe and upbeat atmosphere of our Déjà Vu Rock of Ages. We’re very excited that Déjà Vu is back to celebrate 50 years of a golden legacy!”
