Find Your Circle Wherever You Land With the Les Amis App

Loosely translated from French as "Hey, Friends," the app was designed to make meeting like-minded women in real life feel natural, not awkward.

In today’s hyper-connected world, loneliness can still creep in—especially if you’ve just arrived in a new city or spend most of your time working remotely. Anna Bilyich, a tech professional who once hopped from city to city chasing career opportunities, knows that feeling all too well. After stints with major companies like PayPal and moves across continents, she found herself repeatedly starting from scratch—socially and professionally.

So Bilyich created the solution to her own problem: Les Amis — loosely translated, “Hey, friends!”— a community-led app designed to make meeting like-minded women in real life feel natural, not awkward. Launched in 2022 and now active in eight European cities—including Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Milan, Stockholm and Amsterdam—the platform launched in Austin, Texas, in April, with plans to expand to five more American cities by the end of the year.

Here’s how it works: Members apply to join and build a profile reflecting their interests and aspirations. Every week, the app suggests personal connections for one-on-one meetups—be it a walk in the park, a coffee, or lunch. Users can also join curated group events ranging from pottery workshops to hiking outings. More than just a social network, Les Amis is quietly reshaping what adult friendship looks like—organic, intentional, and grounded in shared experiences. To learn more, visit lesamis.cc.
