Floating Film Series Launches on Fort Lauderdale’s New River

All Saints Episcopal Church in Fort Lauderdale and Ballyhoo Media recently partnered together to offer the Floating Films by Starlight series. The free monthly outdoor movie night experience began last month, featuring movies displayed on a 60-foot floating screen along the New River behind the Church in Brion Park at 333 Tarpon Dr. in Fort Lauderdale. The monthly screenings will showcase movies on select Saturdays each month.

“We are excited to collaborate with the team at All Saints Episcopal Church to bring extra holiday cheer to the Greater Fort Lauderdale community,” Adam Shapiro says, CEO and Founder of Ballyhoo Media. “As we continue to expand our Floating Films series, our goal is for attendees to build stronger connections to South Florida’s charming landscape by crafting these cultural events supported by our unique water-based platform.”

Floating Films on the River Schedule:

  • Saturday, November 19 – The Princess and the Frog
  • Saturday, December 17 – The Muppet Christmas Carol

Gates will open at 5:45 p.m. on each date. Attendees will be able to mingle and enjoy special surprise activities before the movies begin at 7 p.m. Popcorn, candy, ice cream novelties and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Facepainting and games will also be available. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair for viewing.
