Fort Lauderdale Hosts Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade and Festival

The festivities will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The city of Lauderdale will celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. during the King Holiday Celebration Parade at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 15. The proceedings will commence from Sistrunk Boulevard and NW 5th Avenue, then head west along Sistrunk Boulevard and then north on NW 15th Avenue ending with the multicultural festival at Carter Park.

After the parade, the King Holiday Celebration at Carter Park will celebrate different cultures. It is organized by the Parks and Recreation Department of Fort Lauderdale, along with the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee, Inc.

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Committee is a nonprofit organization established in Florida in 2003. It aims to keep alive the legacy of Dr. King by promoting his ideals and vision through various means, including celebration, education, and advocacy. The committee is the only organization in Broward County focusing solely on this mission.
