Great Staycations: Boca Resort and The Ritz South Beach

Boca Raton Resort & Club

501 E. Camino Real, Boca Raton

About the resort: All three settings connected to Boca Raton Resort & Club—the main Yacht Club, the nearby Beach Club and the one/two-bedroom bungalows—are available to guests. The iconic Yacht Club, the all-suite building overlooking Lake Boca that began accepting guests on July 1, is an integral part of the city’s history; it’s filled with dramatic, artfully rendered spaces and world-class dining options, including Lucca (authentic Italian) and Morimoto (gourmet Japanese fare). The Beach Club features three oceanfront pools, a half-mile of private beach, six restaurants and a slew of amenities.

Isn’t that special: As part of the Your Summer Restored Experience, Resort & Club president John Tolbert is insisting that guests spend three or more nights through Sept. 30 at any of the aforementioned settings. In return, the Restored Experience provides guests with a daily round of golf (cart not included), unlimited tennis and a FlowRider pass, $50 daily credit, waived resort fee, free kids meals (ages 6 and under, with a paid adult meal at specified locations), free breakfast (for up to two adults per room and kids under 6) and—if so desired—a fourth night for free.

The Ritz-Carlton South Beach

1 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach

About the resort: A $90 million renovation has only added to the art deco glamour of the Ritz. The oceanfront resort (directly on the beach) has standard 375-square-foot guest rooms, oceanfront suites that range from 800 square feet to 1,100 square feet—and the grand Ritz-Carlton Suite, which checks in at 2,800 square feet with a wraparound balcony overlooking South Beach. The new Fuego y Mar celebrates the flavors of Mexico, Cuba, Venezuela and Colombia; there’s also al fresco dining at DiLido Beach Club. The legendary Lapidus Bar is a Miami throwback and not to be missed.

Isn’t that special: Featured packages at the Ritz include: Rediscover South Beach (through Dec. 20), with luxury accommodations on the club level (and a private-selection bottle of Havana Club Rum), starting at $611; and Stay Longer With Us, with up to 40% savings on stays of four or more consecutive nights (starting at $299, through Dec. 18).
