Higher Ground at Arlo Wynwood Expands Offerings

The venue debuted as a sophisticated cocktail bar and lounge during winter 2022.

Higher Ground, situated on the third floor of the Arlo Wynwood Hotel, has recently expanded its offerings through an engaging lunch menu and extended operating hours for its vibrant courtyard bar and lounge. This picturesque hangout spot, thoughtfully designed by Bar Lab, serves as an approachable respite from the hustle and bustle of Wynwood below, making it the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing drink or two.

The destination exudes an artistic vibe and continues to excel in handcrafted cocktails, overseen by the renowned beverage director Christine Wisemen of Bar Lab. Additionally, they have expanded their offerings and experience to include lunch and dinner options, extended happy hours and occasional evening events. The food menu has been organized into four distinct categories: light bites, stone-oven pizzas, handhelds, and parfaits.

“We are delighted to bring Higher Ground’s new offerings to the community, inviting locals and guests to discover the hidden oasis in the heart of Wynwood,” Jonathan Hernandez says, food and beverage director. “We’re no longer just a cocktail destination but a vibrant urban getaway for lunch breaks, wellness events, evening programming and more. We wanted to create a space where people can come together, enjoy a delicious meal and immerse themselves in the ambiance. With the renowned Bar Lab team behind the scenes, guests can expect nothing short of an incredible time.”

Higher Ground has local beers and wines on tap and an impressive artisanal cocktail menu. Some of the standout drinks include the Above The Canopy, which is a refreshing mix of Ketel One Cucumber & Mint, Lustau Vermut Blanco, St-Germain, lime, fresh aloe, and eucalyptus essence, topped with cucumber soda. Another favorite is the Lush Life, made with Palo Santo-infused Altos Blanco, Chinola, li hing mui, and lime juice and rimmed with black lava salt. And if you’re feeling adventurous, try the Inca Orchid, which is made with Patrón Blanco and pisco, shaken with house-made chicha morada.

Higher Ground is now open Thursday through Sunday, starting at noon. In addition to daily happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., guests can enjoy frequent entertainment such as comedy nights and immersive art experiences. Guests can also enjoy weekly morning wellness classes on the third-floor Yoga Deck before heading over to Higher Ground.
