On May 9, 2024, United HomeCare® will proudly host the Claude Pepper Awards to honor the memory of the late Senator Claude Pepper, who dedicated his life to advocating for elderly causes. For the past 29 years, the organization has continued to recognize individuals and corporations who have demonstrated leadership and compassion in aging in South Florida. As a past recipient of the award, I am honored to be part of continuing the legacy of Senator Claude Pepper.

Congratulations to the 2024 Claude Pepper Award Honorees for their contributions towards making South Florida a better place for everyone.

David Lawrence, Jr., Founder & Board Chair of The Children’s Movement of Florida, Lifetime Achievement; The Honorable Jimmy Patronis, Chief Financial Officer, State Fire Marshal, and Member of the Florida Cabinet, The State of Florida, Public Service; Nelson L. Adams, III, M.D., President and Founder of Metro-Miami Associates and Chair of the Board, Sunshine Health, Thelma Gibson Community Service; Nestor Plana, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Independent Living Systems and Florida Community Care, Corporate Service Healthcare; Sandra and Etorre Sabatella, Managing Editor and Editor-in-Chief of Doral Family Journal, Media Service; The Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing & Health Sciences, Florida International University, Education and Advocacy; and The Honorable Roberto Martell, Mayor, The Town of Medley, Florida, Community Builder.

Often, older adults require assistance that family members are unable to provide, whether physically or financially. In such cases, community philanthropy plays a vital role. For 50 years, United HomeCare® has been dedicated to improving the quality of life for older adults in South Florida. I urge you to support United HomeCare® in helping older adults live independently at home, surrounded by love and the things they hold dear. Your contribution will make a positive and everlasting difference. You can donate through www.unitedhomecare.com.
