Inaugural Reserve Cup Coming to Miami

Reserve Padel CEO Wayne Boich and Miami Heat Superstar Jimmy Butler are hosting the event.

The world’s top padel players, including the No. 1 pair, Juan Lebrón and Alejandro Galán, will be competing for the largest prize money per player in the sport’s history during the inaugural Reserve Cup presented by Richard Mille in Miami. The debut of the first-ever Reserve Cup was organized by Wayne Boich, Founder and CEO of Reserve Padel, along with Miami Heat player Jimmy Butler. It will showcase the pinnacle of padel alongside top-tier entertainment, exceptional dining, curated shopping and luxurious indulgences. The Reserve Cup will bring together 14 of the world’s best padel players to compete in an exhilarating three-day padel showcase, from Thursday, Feb. 8 through Saturday, Feb. 10.

“I am humbled by the chance to bring what I believe to be the pinnacle of padel to the United States, showcasing the epitome of this exciting sport alongside the world’s top players and premier entertainment,” Boich says. “Having spent the last 18 months laying the groundwork at Reserve leading up to this pivotal event, launching Reserve Cup Presented by Richard Mille in Miami is a testament to the vision we’ve worked diligently to bring to life, and I extend my sincere thanks to Richard Mille for their invaluable support in helping to make this possible. This will be the largest independently owned padel event in the world, set to redefine the landscape of elite padel tournaments for years to come.”

The premier lifestyle sporting event is scheduled to occur on-site at Reserve Padel Miami Seaplane at 1000 MacArthur Causeway, the flagship location of the Reserve brand. Notable celebrity players and partners, including Venus Williams, Derek Jeter and Claire Holt, are set to participate in the upcoming event. A special celebrity charity match featuring Venus Williams and Claire Holt has been scheduled at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10. The event has already raised over $1 million for charity.

“Miami is in for something special,” Butler says, the Reserve Cup Partner/Team Captain. “I’m thrilled to be a part of this global Padel movement with Wayne, both as a partner and as a team captain of the Reserve Cup. I’ve seen Padel come a long way over the last couple of years, and I’m very excited for the future of the sport. Looking forward to this tournament, which will be a lot of fun and great for the city of Miami.”

Reserve Cup was established as a platform for promoting the sport of padel by building top-notch padel clubs, constructing and maintaining high-end courts, organizing tournaments, pop-ups, and premier events across the country, and offering exclusive apparel. Since its launch in early 2023, it has become the premier lifestyle padel brand that has propelled the sport toward widespread popularity in the United States. Reserve Cup’s unparalleled luxury amenities and experiences cater to seasoned players and newcomers, making it the leading choice in the market.

The weekend’s schedule begins with an exclusive pro-am event at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 7; a draft ceremony at 7 p.m.; and an invite-only welcome event. The day’s first match is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, while Saturday showcases a celebrity charity match at 4 p.m., followed by player matches at 5 p.m. The winner’s trophy ceremony concludes after the third match, followed by a closing party at 10 p.m.

The event also features a designated VIP section named Reserve Club by Richard Mille, which offers exclusivity to Reserve Members. The Reserve Cup is played in a format that is a mixture of the Ryder Cup (golf) and the Laver Cup (tennis), in true padel style. Two teams of seven players compete for the Reserve Cup over three days. The teams are selected by a draft system on Wednesday, Feb. 7, and each match day to follow is played to the best of three sets.
