Local Chef Makes Quarterfinals of National James Beard Foundation’s “Who Will Be the Next Favchef” Competition

The winner will be featured in Taste of Home Magazine and receive $25,000.

Lenore Nolan Ryan, the founder of Lenore Nolan-Ryan Cooking School & Catering in Fort Lauderdale, reached the quarterfinals of the National James Beard Foundation’s “Who Will Be the Next Favchef” competition. The free voting process for the quarterfinals lasts through Aug. 3, with the semifinals occurring through Aug. 17. The winner will receive $25,000 and appear in a 2-page Taste of Home Magazine advertorial.

“With my winnings, I will create a not-for-profit fun and informative cooking classes to inspire and bring together those families that are less fortunate,” Ryan says. “I want kids, moms, dads, grandparents, aunts and uncles to cook together while creating memories that last a lifetime. Families that cook together stay together! This would give me a platform to share my gifts with everyone. To open their hearts to the wonderful world of cooking!”
