After creating a successful online yoga platform and lifestyle brand, Mimi Ghandour will launch her first brick-and-mortar location when Mimi Yoga Studio opens on Oct. 31 at 278 NW 27th Street in the Wynwood arts district. The hot yoga studio will focus on providing a safe, welcoming space that celebrates community, kindness, authenticity, inclusivity and a sense of lightness.
“I am honored to have cultivated a global community that allows like-minded people to connect with one another from around the world,” she says. “I wanted to create a physical space that will serve as a home for this community and for anyone seeking true connection, both on and off the mat.”
An oversized, white oak archway will greet guests entering Mimi Yoga Studio, which comes with storage lockers to safely store belongings, open cubbies for students to store their shoes, and a shower for those who need to freshen up post-class. Mats, towels, blocks and ankle weights will also be available. An array of merchandise by rotating local artists and women-owned businesses will be available at the studio’s store.
The studio will also serve as home to Mimi’s Yoga Alliance-certified, 200-Hour Mimi Yoga Teacher Training program. Mimi has certified 170 yoga students in-person and online since her first teacher training in 2021. Her sixth, 10-week yoga teacher training began on Oct. 3. Mimi Yoga Studio will also host events, including a free, monthly community class open to the public.
