Six fundraising events dot the South Florida charity calendar over the next month

April 24

The annual UKG Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K is set for Huizenga Plaza in Fort Lauderdale. Expect children’s festivities, vendor/educational booths, and live music at an event that has raised more than $3 million for Mothers Against Drunk Driving since 2011. April 29

Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is the backdrop for an event that falls on the eve of the Fort Lauderdale Air Show (April 30-May 1). BrightStar Credit Union’s Top Fun, presented by Office Depot, benefits programs and initiatives connected to Broward Education Foundation. Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite character from Top Gun as part of an evening that includes dinner, live entertainment and an online auction. Tickets are $250 per person. April 30

Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club hosts the 16th annual Monopoly Event & Casino Night, benefiting Boca Helping Hands. The evening includes dinner, silent and live auctions, casino gaming—and the crowning of the night’s Monopoly champion. May 5

The Pink Angels of the Memorial Foundation hosts the second annual Pink-O De Mayo event at the Weston home of Wendi Sugarman-Bieber, a Stage 3 breast cancer survivor. The evening promises tapas and desserts, margaritas and specialty cocktails, and raffle prizes; funds benefit breast cancer patients and programs in the Memorial Healthcare system. May 6-7

The Boca Bacchanal, benefiting the Boca Raton Historical Society, returns for two nights of epicurean treats. The weekend kicks off with five-course vintner dinners held in private estates and historical venues throughout Boca. The following night, The Boca Raton hosts a tasting spectacular featuring prized pours of wines and Champagnes, as well as samplings from top local chefs. (bocahistory.org)

May 7

PAWS, an auxiliary arm of the Humane Society of Broward County, will stage its annual gala at Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa.
