The Seminole Tribe of Florida and Seminole Gaming has made the decision to temporarily close all Seminole and Hard Rock casinos throughout the state. As of 6 p.m. on Friday, slot machines and gaming in rooms across six Florida-based properties will shut down.
According to an official statement, the decision “was not taken lightly as Seminole Gaming employs nearly 14,000 … team members in the state. The goal has been to protect their livelihood without jeopardizing public safety. We have now reached a point where we do not feel comfortable taking that risk.”
The closings impact the following South Florida casinos:
• Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood
• Seminole Casino Coconut Creek
• Seminole Classic Casino (Hollywood)
Additional closings include: Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, Seminole Casino Hotel Immokalee and Seminole Casino Brighton.
