South Florida Shines in MICHELIN’s Latest Guide Update

Four standout restaurants join the elite culinary ranks in Florida’s 2025 MICHELIN Guide expansion.

South Florida’s food scene just received another round of recognition, with four new restaurants added to the prestigious MICHELIN Guide. The March 2025 update showcases an impressive range of culinary creativity—from artful small plates and modern steakhouse indulgence to luxe pizza and elegant contemporary fare.

Here’s a look at South Florida’s MICHELIN Guide additions:

Kojin 2.0

Coral Gables
Cuisine: Contemporary
Chefs Pedro and Katherine Mederos have brought new life to Kojin with their latest iteration in Coral Gables. The modern menu blends Japanese influences with bold, risk-taking flavors. Standouts include bone marrow panna cotta with house-made coffee shoyu and foie toast with strawberry preserves. Whether you opt for the tasting menu or à la carte, expect artistic plating and daring combinations.

Recoveco

South Miami
Cuisine: Contemporary
This cozy yet bold spot by Chefs Maria Teresa Gallina and Nicolas Martinez packs serious culinary punch. The menu is concise and ever-evolving, with seasonal ingredients and striking presentations. Highlights include chicken liver mousse on house-made cookies and wagyu ribeye with banana au poivre. Don’t miss the sapodilla sticky toffee pudding for a tropical finish.

Sunny’s Steakhouse

Little River, Miami
Cuisine: Steakhouse
A sultry blend of retro and modern Florida, Sunny’s is as much about the scene as it is the steak. Expect luxurious touches like stone crab claws and bone marrow vinaigrette alongside perfectly seared cuts of beef. The russet potatoes fried in chicken schmaltz and kouign-amann ice cream sandwich are local legends in the making.

ViceVersa

Downtown Miami (The Elser Hotel)
Cuisine: Pizza
This moody-yet-chic pizzeria offers some of the best crispy, thin Neapolitan-style pies in the 305. While the pizza draws the crowd, bold Italian-inspired appetizers and a raw bar featuring royal red shrimp are worthy contenders. Cap off the meal with gelato—or better yet, an affogato martini.
