As an educator and travel enthusiast, people always ask me what are great places to take your children during the summer. Being new to South Florida, I’ve looked at a lot of places and been able to visit quite a few on my journey to find the perfect blend of education and fun. Living up North for most of my life, one of my favorite places to visit has always been Washington DC.

In fact, by the time I turned 11,  I had visited every museum in the area! Now that I am a Mom, I want my children to have a similar experience. Luckily, I found out that there are a lot of great museums here in South Florida, such as the Miami Children’s Museum, The Frost Science Center and the Young at Art Museum. These museums foster each child’s creativity and allow them to explore. Florida also has other points of interests which are just a drive away.

For example, if you head over to Central Florida, our favorite place is to visit is Epcot. How cool is it to go from county to county! Next time you are there, try sampling food at each country, that is if your stomach can handle it!

If you have a history buff in your family, head northeast to Saint Augustine! Here you will find the oldest city in America dating back to 1565! Some points of interest to see are the original Spanish fort, The Oldest School House and of course Devil’s Den, which is the home of a prehistoric spring! Whatever you do this summer make it count. There’s nothing better than being together while educating and entertaining your family! For more tips and ideas, check out our Lots Of Love social media pages.
