The Taco Stand has introduced its second location on the East Coast in Little Havana’s Calle Ocho. Owned by Sh?wa Hospitality, the Southern California Mexican concept is known for its authentic taqueria experience. The Tijuana-inspired taco stand already has locations in San Diego, La Jolla, Dallas, and Las Vegas, with its first Miami location opening in Wynwood in 2016. It is now open to the public, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner at 2063 SW 8th St. The 2,000-square-foot restaurant has 50 seats and offers Tijuana-inspired fare, providing guests with a south-of-the-border experience.
Sh?wa Hospitality has gained a reputation for its extensive range of restaurants, hotels, and bars nationwide. The San Diego-based hospitality group was founded by Julian Hakim and Aram Baloyan, who are committed to delivering excellent service, design, and quality in all their concepts. Most of their restaurants pay tribute to the Japanese omakase-style of dining, with one of their most prominent ventures being Hiden Miami. The Michelin-starred restaurant is situated in Wynwood, with its entrance as a speakeasy located at the back of The Taco Stand. The eight-seat fine dining experience is centered on a seasonal tasting menu featuring the freshest ingredients from Japan.
“We are excited to bring The Taco Stand’s authentic taqueria experience to Miami’s Calle Ocho,” Hakim says. “Now, with our second location in Little Havana, we have taken the first step in our plans to bring The Taco Stand to other neighborhoods and share our bold, Tijuana-inspired flavors.”
Since its establishment in 2013 in La Jolla, CA, The Taco Stand has expanded its national presence with its authentic Mexican cuisine renowned for being “Hecho A Mano” (made by hand). The experience, inspired by the upbringing of owners Julian Hakim and Aram Baloyan in Tijuana, features the use of handmade corn tortillas, the highest quality meats, and the freshest ingredients to prepare their famous guacamole and salsas, which are made from scratch every day. In addition to their mouth-watering tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, the establishment offers a range of Mexican-flavored popsicles/paletas, refreshments, imported beer, and freshly-made Rosarito-style churros, which diners can enjoy either in-house or through take-out.
The Taco Stand provides many delectable options to cater to all taste preferences. Their breakfast menu items, such as the Pollo Ranchero, which comprises chicken, rice, refried beans, white onions, cilantro, avocado, and a rich salsa ranchera, are popular choices. The stand-out item on the menu is the Mar y Tierra Fries, which features grilled shrimp with flamed grilled Angus steak, fries, guacamole, sour cream, and topped with cheese. Its staples include the Carne Asada tacos, Al Pastor Burritos, and the Pollo Quesadilla. For its full Miami menu, please visit here.
