The LOOP to Host Movies by Moonlight “Dog Days of Summer” Series

The main lawn at Las Olas Oceanside Park (LOOP) in Fort Lauderdale will host the Movies by Moonlight “Dog Days of Summer” series on the fourth Friday of the month at 8 p.m. on July 22, Aug. 26 and Sept. 23. The free movies and dog-friendly events are presented by the City of Fort Lauderdale Beach Improvement District (BID). It is hosted by the mom and pup duo Ana and Teddy, who created the award-winning Instagram @TourwithTeddy and blog “Living A Fairytail.” 

Locals and visitors of all ages are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and a movie date. A people and pets’ marketplace will feature new and returning vendors, ranging from pet services to accessories.

The July 22 event will feature a Pet Fashion Contest sponsored by Petit Pups Pawtique and the event on Aug. 26 will feature a Back-to-School fashion show hosted by Salon Bark and The Pretty Nomad, along with a Dög Pawrignon Champagne Bar for dogs, sponsored by The W Fort Lauderdale.

Movie snacks and drinks are available to purchase onsite; limited chairs and picnic blankets are available to borrow. All pre-registered children under the age of ten will receive a complimentary bag of popcorn courtesy of the respective evening presenting sponsors, Petwell Clinics, New York Life and WE Florida Financial Credit Union.

Dogs can enjoy complimentary doggie dinners sponsored by Yum Pup. Pet Hydration Stations will be available from PetWell Clinic Fort Lauderdale and Pembroke Pines and SupPup Selfie Stations sponsored by Blue Moon Adventures will add more four-legged fun.

Each month, guests will have the opportunity to purchase a “Golden Ticket” ($10) for the chance to win a Yappy Hour VIP Bottle Service ($100 max value towards cocktails and bites) from W Fort Lauderdale, or a two-day, one-night stay at some of Fort Lauderdale’s pet-friendly hotels including Bahia Mar Fort Lauderdale Beach, the Kimpton Goodland Hotel, and AC Marriott Fort Lauderdale Beach.

At each event, Yum Pup offers guests the opportunity to win a box of four 1-pound bags of dog food of various flavors when they share a photo from the event on Instagram, tag #theloopflb and @yumpup.
