Let’s face it, there is nothing more comforting than super yummy chocolate for many of us!

Strangely enough, there is a science behind why we enjoy and sometimes even crave it!

You see, chocolate contains a key compound called TRYAMINE, which is derived from Tyrosine, an amino acid. This amazing amino acid is the precursor for DOPAMINE! So increased amounts of Tyrosine mean increased amounts of Dopamine! Translation? YOU’RE A HAPPIER CAMPER WHEN YOU CONSUME CHOCOLATE! Hence some people’s crazy addiction!

But too often, chocolate comes at a cost when consumed too frequently…Excess weight and excess sugar – not a great side effect of making yourself feel good!

THERE IS A SOLUTION!

It may sound gross, but forget the ingredients…Close your eyes, and presto, you’re eating a brownie! It’s scrumptious!

Super Yummy Black Bean Brownies!

Ingredients:

One 15oz can of organic black beans (drained and rinsed)

2 large eggs

1 cup cocoa powder

¼ tsp of salt

3 tbs of coconut oil (melted or soft)

1 tsp of vanilla extract

Truvia to personal sweetness

1 ½ tsp of baking powder

½ cup cacao nibs (bitter sweet chocolate chips can be used as well)

6 tbs of almond milk

Method: Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease pan or muffin tins. Combine all ingredients into the blender and BLEND – if batter appears super thick, add tb(s) of almond milk. Add cacao nibs into batter after blending. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is dry and edges start to pull away from pan. Remove from oven – let cool for at least 30 minutes before taking them out! Inside will be very fudgy and super yum!
