The Big Number: 2

A pop-up concept that honors the tradition of Korean cuisine while also serving today’s emphasis on health-conscious menu options is generating some fast-casual buzz in Coconut Grove. Jennifer and Michele Kaminski are the siblings behind 2 Korean Girls, a delivery and takeout concept that also includes their mother—Chom “Sunny” Kaminski, a cook whose line of Korean sauces and seasonings is sold at specialty markets all over the country—as well as James Beard award-winning chef Allen Susser.

Family recipes helped to inspire the gluten-free menu of signature and custom bowls, as well as snacks and side dishes (kimchee fried rice, marinated kale salad, ribs and meatballs). But at the hub of the concept is Bibimbap, a Korean culinary mainstay featuring rice with meat, vegetables and egg. Among the signature bowls is the O.B. (Original Bibimbap) with ribeye bulgogi, Korean white rice, sesame spinach, marinated mung bean sprouts, sweet & sour radish, spicy potato, fried egg and Gochujang. Other signature bowls include Fish Better Have My Money! (Korean miso cod, forbidden rice, sesame spinach, marinated mung bean sprouts, sautéed zucchini, shredded gim, gold flakes and Funky sauce); and Phat Buddha (the lentil-based vegan protein Adashah, cauliflower rice, sesame spinach, sweet & sour radish, marinated mung bean sprouts and spicy potato).
