4th Annual JA World Uncorked!

THE EVENT  The fourth annual “Fork & Cork Affair” hosted by Junior Achievement of South Florida’s Circle of Wise Women will create a culinary showcase where guests sample gourmet bites by leading South Florida chefs and savor premier wines, spirits and intriguing craft beers.  VIP sponsors will be treated to Club Red @Uncorked! sponsored by the Florida Panthers Foundation.

Chefs will be joining forces to create the evening’s unique culinary experience including Culinary Chairs Renee Quinn and John “Jack” Kane, chef director at The Art Institute’s International Culinary School, along with Chef Liaisons Wes Bonner, Publix Aprons Cooking School & Catering; Paula DaSilva, 3030 Ocean at the Harbor Beach Marriott; and  Asher Roebuck, Timpano Italian Chophouse. Burger Beast will host the Gourmet Comfort Food Alley, and the Uncorked! craft beer experience evolves as Funky Buddha Brewery and Brown Distributing offer select pairings with local chefs. Chad Thilborger, local food personality and cook book author, hosts our Dessert Bash, featuring Korbel Uncorked! A Dessert Pairing Competition with students from The International Culinary School at The Art Institute Fort Lauderdale.

THE CAUSE  Junior Achievement of South Florida’s Circle of Wise Women are education advocates who believe they can affect positive changes in students’ attitudes, performance and future outlook. Wise Women understand the need to transform how students view the world of work, personal finance, free enterprise and their own potential for success. Wise Women are committed to helping provide the resources necessary for Junior Achievement to offer a full range of programs that impart sound economic principles to youths from kindergarten through 12th grade. They achieve this through hands-on activities, providing financial support, and forging new partnerships for JA in the communities in which they live and work. Founded in May 2009, JA’s Circle of Wise Women  has contributed $1,750,000.00 to Junior Achievement’s programs to date, according to founding member and JA’s Director of Development Diana Metcalf.
