DAVID LACHAPELLE: HAPPY TOGETHER

VISU Contemporary has announced a new exhibition for 2024 that will feature the works of renowned photographer David LaChapelle. The exhibition is titled David Lachapelle: Happy Together and is curated by VISU Contemporary gallery owners Bruce Halpryn and Blake Pearson. It will be on display until March 2. The exhibition will showcase over 30 significant photographs from LaChapelle’s career, from 1985 to the present, including the premiere of a new work. (visugallery.com)

ADDY AWARDS

The Broward + Palm Beach Chapter of the American Advertising Federation is hosting the ADDY Awards at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22 at The Angeles in downtown Fort Lauderdale with the theme of Electric Crayons. Creatives across Broward and Palm Beach County submitted their best work in various categories that will be chosen by our selected judges and celebrated at the Electric Crayons-themed Gala. Anyone in the community is encouraged to purchase a ticket to the event. General Admission tickets are $75 and will include beer, wine, and light bites. FOOD NETWORK SOUTH BEACH WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL

The Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF®) is a four-day event that attracts renowned wine and spirits producers, chefs and culinary personalities worldwide. The festival, which runs Feb. 22-Feb. 25, is known for its star-studded lineup and is a popular destination for foodies. This year, the DinersDrive-Ins and Dives dinner is returning for its fourth year. The Feb. 23 event will take place in the festival’s renowned North Venue, with Guy Fieri, an Emmy-winning TV personality and famous restaurateur, again headlining the event. (sobewff.org)

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL

Cirque du Soleil is set to make a grand return to South Florida from Feb. 22 to April 7 with their latest show, ECHO. The show tells a tale of connection, intention and the symbiotic relationships between humans and animals. This marks Cirque du Soleil’s official return to South Florida since 2019 and the first-ever Big Top show to come to Broward County. The show will take place in a spectacular new location with the iconic Pegasus statue at 1/ST’s Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach as a backdrop. (Cirquedusoleil.com/echo)

BOCA INTERNATIONAL JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL

The highly anticipated film lineup for the first edition of the Boca International Jewish Film Festival (BIJFF) has been announced. The festival, which will take place from Feb. 25 to March 17, will showcase features, documentaries and short films from various countries, including the U.S., Israel, Canada, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, France, Germany and Australia. Filmmakers, producers and actors will attend the event to present and discuss their films at several locations, including Cinemark Palace 2o, Movies of Delray and Lake Worth, and the Wick Theater.
