Cybersales Safe Haven

In 2014, there were a number of cases in South Florida where sellers or buyers were targeted for theft either for their valuable goods (such as electronics and cellphones) or cash. Pinecrest Police Station is now a safe haven for anyone looking to buy or sell items via classified websites such as Craigslist.

In an effort to deter criminal activities and ensure the safety of Pinecrest residents completing Internet transactions, buyers and sellers can arrange to meet in the first-floor parking lot or the third-floor police station lobby. There is no need to call ahead, just arrange with the other party the time you wish to meet. If the first-floor main entrance is locked on the weekend or after hours, just press the intercom button and inform the operator of the safe haven transaction.
