Yogis can practice the art of zen with their best friend at the “Downdog with Dogs” events at Tri-County Animal Rescue in Boca Raton. Led by renowned yoga instructor Naya Rappaport, these yoga classes are pet-friendly and created to foster physical interaction between people and dogs.
“The class will be therapeutic for both the humans and the dogs, and it will create a community of like-minded people who love animals. Participants will interact with their fur babies or adoptable dogs by massaging their paws, body, head and neck, while doing poses.”
Those who do not have a pet of their own are invited to participate in the class with one of the adoptable pets from Tri-County Animal Rescue. Yogis with their own pets in tow must also bring a copy of the pet’s current medical records in order to participate.
The first event in this series will take place on July 24 at 8 a.m. They will occur on the first and third Wednesday of every month at the same time and location. The fee for each session is a $15 donation to Tri-County Animal Rescue, and participants are encouraged to bring a towel or toy to donate to the shelter as well.
