There is no denying the beauty of our state! With this incredible stretch of sand – the visual alone is enough to make you feel incredible! But did you know that taking your workout to the beach will not only give you better results, but will make you feel amazing, both physically and mentally?

Here’s the scoop!

Working out in the fresh air always improves your health by reducing stress and anxiety; add the beach with the negative ions in the air and WHAM! – you produce even more serotonin – your happy hormone… and WHAM! again – serotonin gets converted to melatonin, so you sleep better too! 

With Vitamin D deficiencies being linked to depression and anxiety, time spent in the sun absorbing the rays, which is the best source of Vitamin D, your mood and stress levels will be greatly improved! Did you know that our bodies make our own Vitamin D from the sun by combining the rays with cholesterol? Crazy, right? Great way to help to lower those levels too!

With the instability and unpredictability of the sand, the intensity of your workout is tremendously increased! It’s actually brilliant because the extra resistance from the soft surface makes it easier on your joints, yet harder on your muscles! Your stabilizer muscles, like your core, are in constant engagement – yum to that! This all adds up to burning almost two times more calories than walking or jogging on a hard surface!
