The South Beach Seafood Festival Returns to the Sands of Miami Beach

The South Beach Seafood Festival returns Oct. 21 to 24, bringing four days of dinners, chef competitions, and beachfront tastings to Miami Beach while kicking off South Florida’s stone crab season.

Now in its 14th year, the festival opens with a new event, Made in Miami, an intimate collaborative dinner at Phuc Yea featuring chefs Cesar Zapata (Phuc Yea), Jose Mendin (Pubbelly), Fernando Desa (Goya), Michael Beltran (Ariete), Eduardo Lara (Wolf of Tacos) and Eileen Andrade (Finka). Thursday’s An Evening in Miami Beach offers pairing dinners at both Rao’s Miami Beach and Macchialina.

The action moves to Lummus Park on Friday, October 23rd for the VIP Chef Showdown, where 18 chefs will face off in nine different seafood “battles”. Bartenders will also compete in two cocktail showdowns.

Saturday’s Seafood Slam caps the festival with unlimited tastings from more than 40 South Florida restaurants, live entertainment, and interactive experiences. New this year is the “Shuck’n the Sunshine State” oyster-shucking competition featuring 15 chefs vying for the title of “Miami’s Best Shucker”.

Tickets are on sale for individual events, with prices ranging from $160 to $500. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit sobeseafoodfest.com.
