United Way of Broward County Hosts Drive for School Supplies

Many families are already wondering how they can afford school supplies for their children for the 2023/2024 school year.

To help ease the burden of purchasing school supplies for low-income families in South Florida, United Way of Broward County has organized the initiative’ Backpack Broward’. The organization seeks the public’s help to donate school supplies and backpacks for underprivileged children. Donations and school supplies are accepted until July 29, 2023.

There are two ways to donate:

  • Make A Financial Contribution: Donate $65 to sponsor a child’s backpack filled with supplies and other essential items. Please visit United Way Broward | Backpack Broward 2023 to donate today.
  • Donate Filled Backpacks at the United Way of Broward County Ansin Building, 1300 South Andrews Ave: Bring a new backpack filled with an assortment of notebooks, folders, highlighters, glue sticks, erasers, pens, pencils, scissors, crayons, rulers, Clorox wipes/Baby Wipes, and tissues.

For a complete list of needed supplies, please visit https://www.unitedwaybroward.org/events/backpack-broward-2023

All supporters are encouraged to take a picture with a sign (click here for sign) and share it on social media using the hashtags #LIVEUNITEDBroward and #BACKPACKBROWARD.
