For more than half a century, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade have been selling Christmas trees to spread festive cheer in households across South Florida while helping to secure brighter futures for the region’s young people. This time-honored tradition continues this year through the Thoma Bravo Christmas Tree Lot, which operates out of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade’s Hank Kline Club.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade organized a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the beginning of the 2023 holiday season. The event was attended by various Miami dignitaries, board members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade, representatives from Thoma Bravo, who are sponsoring the tree lot this year, youth members, and Santa Claus himself. The event aims to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
The Fraser fir trees at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade are carefully hand-selected by their president, Alex Rodriguez-Roig, from North Carolina. These trees are available for purchase and range from 5 to 14 feet tall, starting at $65. In addition, poinsettias can also be purchased starting at $15. For those who want to positively impact an area youth’s life, there is also an opportunity to sponsor-a-child while shopping.
The Clubs will be able to fund their crucial programs and services at their six locations, such as educational after-school programs, tutoring and homework assistance, social skills, dance, arts and crafts, mentoring, and summer and athletic programs, with the proceeds from tree sales and Sponsor-A-Child. These programs are designed to help children reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.
