After canceling the 2023 show due to severe weather, organizers for the annual Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade are gearing up for a fantastic show in 2024 on Dec. 14, which celebrates its 53rd year. Winterfest is renowned for hosting a unique boat parade that attracts people worldwide and brings together the local community. The parade gained so much popularity that community leaders established a nonprofit organization in 1988 to transform the show and all its associated events into a remarkable community extravaganza. Winterfest’s economic impact on the community of Broward County is estimated at over $50 million per year, which brings several benefits to the county.
The first board meeting of 2024 will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 8, at the Museum of Discovery and Science (401 SW 2nd St., Fort Lauderdale). The Winterfest board of directors and advisors is a group of community leaders who act as ambassadors for the South Florida signature event.
“The 2023-2024 Winterfest Board is excited to begin a new era as we celebrate our 52nd Anniversary,” Lisa Scott-Founds says, Winterfest president and CEO. “We are always striving to be bigger and better year after year, and our board is committed now more than ever to bring the community the ‘Best Show on H2O’.”
